Strategic Advisory
Guidance on market-entry strategy, positioning and stakeholder mapping, tailored to the political, regulatory and commercial realities of each African jurisdiction.
Africa market access & strategic advisory
We open credible, senior-level pathways into African markets for partners in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas, built on more than thirty years of direct, trust-based relationships across the continent.
Who we are
Alkebulan Strategic Advisors is built on more than three decades of independent work across African markets. Throughout that time, we have operated as advisors and facilitators, building personal and institutional relationships directly and on the ground across the continent's commodity, trade and public-sector landscapes.
Those relationships were built on trust and personal standing earned over many years, rather than through any single firm or brand. We operate as a specialist advisory practice that complements conventional consulting and brokerage, centred on high-level introductions, facilitation and strategic positioning that support clients well beyond any individual transaction.
Linkages
Our clients are organisations seeking a credible, well-connected route into Africa. We sit at the junction, translating global capital, technology and trade into locally grounded outcomes.
What we do
Guidance on market-entry strategy, positioning and stakeholder mapping, tailored to the political, regulatory and commercial realities of each African jurisdiction.
Sourcing and qualifying commercial opportunities in commodities, trade facilitation, infrastructure and related sectors, often before they become widely known or competitively contested.
Facilitating introductions at every level of seniority, from working-level counterparts to senior decision-makers in government, state institutions and established private-sector networks.
Depth of access
“Access that extends from working level through to the most senior levels of government.”
Our network was not built through cold outreach or chains of intermediaries. These are personal relationships developed over three decades of direct engagement. For investors, that means faster validation of opportunities, clearer insight into the political and regulatory environment, and a credible pathway to the stakeholders whose support determines whether a project proceeds.
Sectors of operation
Geographic footprint
Active, relationship-based coverage, with the capacity to extend into neighbouring jurisdictions as opportunities require.
Illustrative track record
Owing to the confidential nature of our work, many engagements were conducted without our name on formal transaction documentation. The summaries below describe the nature and scope of representative mandates, without naming counterparties or disclosing terms.
Water infrastructure
Working alongside the client, the government and the local utility, we helped secure a concessional loan for an approximately 60 km pipeline and pumping stations, supplying a capital city with treated river water.
Undisclosed jurisdiction
Road infrastructure
A region of socio-economic and political importance was cut off by impassable swampland. We helped secure financing for one of the region's most technologically advanced road projects, restoring access.
Undisclosed jurisdiction
Precious metals supply chain
For a major precious metals trader, we established a weekly supply of gold and precious and semi-precious minerals from two countries, channelled through state-owned and state-controlled exporters.
Undisclosed jurisdiction
Housing infrastructure
The target country faced a significant housing shortfall for its law enforcement personnel. Working with the client, we helped secure financing for modern housing developments nationwide.
Undisclosed jurisdiction
Minerals & metals
Sourced and coordinated the supply of Millberry-grade copper from regional producers, working directly with origin-side counterparties to establish a reliable channel for offtake.
Undisclosed jurisdiction
Precious metals
Led business development across Africa's gold sector, building direct relationships with producers and intermediaries and supporting clients seeking credible entry into regional supply chains.
Undisclosed jurisdiction

How we engage
Advisory terms are agreed case by case. No upfront payment is required under any structure.
Why we work this way
Many of the relationships we rely on are sustained precisely because they are not publicised. Discretion protects our clients and the long-term integrity of our network.
We are remunerated for access and outcomes, not visibility, so formal documentation of prior mandates does not always reflect the full extent of our role.
References and verification of our track record are provided through direct discussion and, where appropriate, introductions to prior counterparties.
